I do and teach qigong, and have read a dozen or so of the books not compulsory by my teachers, and I urge “Wood Becomes Water” to my students as a first read on the theme of Habitual Chinese Medicine. TCM can quickly become complicated, but this book keeps things simple and clear and still gives a feel for the breadth and depth of the theme.

this books is well written and provides a gorgeous overview of the 5 elements and how they manifest in our world. i was looking for something that was more oriented towards the overall charater of the elements and less concerned with the technicalities of chinese medicine. i got what i was looking for.
