I got this book to help me do visualizing the whole picture in a case. I reckon as nursing students we get bogged down in trying to remember all the in rank that we need to remember that we forget an vital part of doing well is putting it all together once we have all the in rank. This book is a excellent way to do the whole picture thought.

I have found success in nursing school depends on my being able to educate myself, and this book has aided my learning in many ways. The case studies have helped me learn how in rank relates to patient care, and how to place the whole picture together. In essence, they give me a opportunity to get the in rank out of the book and my notes and into my head. Even better, the questions pull in rank in ways that I hadn’t considered and so allow me to learn more than I would have studying without it.
I was frustrated at first that there were no “answers” to the case studies, but realized quickly that this works to my advantage. Having to look up the in rank and reckon through the questions instead of simply skipping to the back of the book improves my retention. It is also helpful to work through the case studies with a study partner – which can give me a whole different perspective on the problems.
My only complaint would be that the case studies are not organized beyond body system. This means I need to read the initial tale for every case study in a section to choose which ones apply to the problems we are studying in class. I do know listing them by problem would take some of the learning out of the case studies – but it would save time in finding which ones to go over when.
I certainly urge this resource to other nursing students, have gotten several of my classmates to buy it and even suggested it be used as part of our curriculum.
