This is a detailed medical textbook with chapters that read very much like journal articles. Probably a relatively trying book for the non-medical person unless you’re willing to use a medical dictionary quite a bit. Each chapter has dozens or hundreds of references to published journal articles. There are some photos, both black and white and in color. The list of abreviations isn’t 100% complete, but still helpful. The chapter authors are from the USA and from nearly the world, with several huge-name university research hospitals represented. Despite the deep medical jargon, I am finding this to be a valuable reference that is helping me know what is known about vasculitis, and also to see how much more research needs to be done in this family of rare conditions.
