Most of the exercises in the book can really be done without needing any foam rollers. The roller part just seemed like kind of a gimmick. I have a foam roller and it is fantastic for my back and rounded shoulders. But, this book didn’t provide any insights into exercises I either couldn’t simply reckon of on my own or easily do just as well without using any rollers.

I expected more from the book. OK for the beginner but not any new in rank.

It is fascinating to me that the one negative reviewer said she didn’t like the book because most of the exercises may possibly easily be done without the roller. But that’s the whole top! Adding the roller to specific exercises in specific ways increases the effectiveness of the exercises by forcing you to have to balance and stabilize more. This is one of the only books that I had stolen several times from my studio and I just kept replacing it. It’s fantastic! The roller is not just to massage your back and stretch your shoulders. Using it to stand and kneel down on helps strengthen your balance and your “core” stabilizers in ways that are very helpful and functional. I have used this book and the exercises myself and with clients for over a decade.

This book is a must for anyone working with rehab, mature, and relatively healthy individuals. I use this book to help target specific areas/muscles where a person may need additional strength or stretching. It is a GREAT reference to keep exercise/exercise therapy fun!
