Product Description
Trigger top therapy is one of the most intriguing and fastest-growing carcass styles in the world. Medical doctors, chiropractors, corporal therapists, and massage therapists are all beginning to use this technique to relieve formerly undiagnosable muscle and joint pain—conditions that studies have shown to be the cause of near 25 percent of all doctor visits. The technique involves applying small, repeated massage strokes to trigger points, tiny contraction knots in muscle tissue where top secret circulation and lack of oxygen cause referred pain. Trigger points make pain throughout the body in predictable patterns characteristic to each muscle, producing discomfort ranging from mild to severe. Trigger top massage increases circulation and oxygenation in the area and often produces instant relief. This dynamic technique has made a huge impact among health professionals and the broadcast alike, apt an overnight classic in the field of pain relief. The book has sold over 220,000 copies since the release of the first edition in 2001. The second edition is a complete update and includes a new chapter specifically for massage professionals, as well as a chapter on systematic muscle relaxation techniques that can reinforce the therapeutic power of trigger top work.Amazon.com Review
The first edition of this workbook is regarded as a classic in its field, and was the first book to initiate trigger top therapy to the general broadcast as a self-care tool for alleviating chronic pain caused by a variety of conditions, including arthritis, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, headache, muscle ache, and repetitive strain injuries. As the author makes clear, all such conditions are correlated to lack of oxygen in exhausted or injured muscle tissue. Trigger top therapy has been used for decades by doctors, pain specialists, and massage therapists to quickly stimulate the flow of oxygen and promote rapid pain reduction. This book makes the same techniques available to the general broadcast with instructions that are simple to follow, and abetted by an extensive collection of charts and corresponding illustrations.
The author’s interest in trigger top therapy started when he used it to successfully handle his frozen shoulder. Since that time, he has dedicated himself to teaching others the same techniques. That dedication is evident throughout his writing and the care he takes to make the therapy understandable to the lay broadcast. Also included in this new edition is updated in rank that should be of fantastic interest to pain specialists and bodyworkers, as well as helpful instruction in a variety of relaxation techniques. Overall, this book is an brilliant self-care resource for anyone interested in pain relief.–Larry Trivieri Jr.

Save your money on this book and go see a therapist trained in treating Trigger Points. Most trigger points can be successfully treated with 2 or three treatments provided by a qualified expert in trigger points or neuromuscular therapy.
When seeing a therapist you have the added bonus of someone who can address any factors that were significant in you getting the trigger points in the first place – poor posture, poor movement, or refer you to an approporiate professional to look into more sinister factors that may be caught up.

I never like giving a terrible review, but I feel as if I was absolutely mislead when it came to this book. I was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and had *hoped* that my spouse may possibly learn these techniques and use them on me. Well, he may possibly – if he had some type of medical degree. The pictures are not very helpful, and there is just page after page of medical jargon.
I’m a professional novelist and make documentation on everything from decorating trends to high-end satellite networks. Yet, this book was even too complicated for me to follow (and I have an IQ above 165!) It’s filled with way too much medical language, and unless you know a lot about anatomy, don’t even consider buying it.
Now, if you’re a corporal or massage therapist, buy this book, learn the techniques, and offer services using them and you’ll make a fortune! But, if you’re a non-medical person such as myself, don’t spend the money.

This text provides a simple, elementary introduction to the theme of TP therapy, but falls far small of providing a truly helpful guide for massage therapists wanting to become skilled in effectively applying these techniques on their clients. This is a large book with very small vital in rank about the nature of TPs pathologies, comprised frequently of body mappings of probable TP locations within muscle groups that are grossly generalized and of small real use in TP palpation. The Davies wookbook is not an pricey guide for understanding the basic concepts, but the serious bodyworker will find small meat to the material before soon needing a much more in-depth guide to go further.
