The book has excellent in rank. But the reason people like it is not because it is excellent. It is because it tells people what they want to hear- “It’s not your fault you are hefty.” People, admit it! LOVE to blame anything on their consequence but them. This book gives people “proof” that they eat healthy and exercise and are still hefty! They get sympathy. That is why this book is so well loved, because most of the info in it is pure sensational- scare tactics followed by words everyone wants to hear.
I was diagnosed with thyroid disorder at 14. I weigh less than 100 pounds and I eat alot for my consequence. My thyroid has affected my moods and my hair, and possibly my consequence, but I reckon people are eating a lot more than they want to admit, and then being sluggish and not feeling well makes them eat more, so I guess you may possibly say “its the thyroid” but really it is the food.

DIET
I have been diagnosed as a borderline hypothyroid about 14 years ago! I’ve lived with this shape up without any treatment and I considered my life pretty “normal”, I never plotting it was a dibilitating shape up at all, infact I was surprised that it can be that extreme! About 3 months ago I plotting I should stop procrastinating and do something about it, I had a checkup, had some tests and ongoing taking some thyroid tablets as the doctor ordered. I also bought a link of books about hypothyroidism, one of which is this one.
I did not learn anything new about dieting which is specific to people with hypothyroidism, I used to be chubby when I was a kid and hence I have everlastingly been very “health conscious”, as in one of those people who spends 10-12 hours a week exercising and doing all sorts of outdoor activities for fun, I have managed to have a healthy BMI level of 21 as far as I can remember, way before I was diagnosed, I do not follow a specific diet, “all in moderation” is the motto I adhere to the most, out of curiousity I have read about Atkins, Southbeach, Weightwatchers and all these other diet articles and books, I did not see anything unique or additional info in this book at all.
The “Thyroid Diet” title is a misrepresentation in my attitude, the diet part only gives a “high-level” description of the various commercial diets out there. I may possibly not figure out which of the diet tips is specific to people with hypothyroidism.
SYMPTOMS
I do have some of the symptoms that were described in the book but rather on a milder level, I am quite skeptical about all of my symptoms correlated to hypothyroidism e.g.
-poor memory (not to the top where I cannot function or do my work, it may possibly be in my genes)
-dry skin (I plotting it was in my genes! nothing a small moisturizer can fix)
-brittle hair (which I plotting was attributed to the products that I use!)
-oversleeping (i plotting i was just bone idle)
-mild fatigue (not often, once in a even as, this ordinarily happens when I over-exercise)
-irregular menstrual period (the only symptom which i plotting is correlated to my thyroid problem)
The book does not offer any explanation how to “differentiate” between symptoms that may be caused by hypothyrodism not something else. I plotting this was a bit frustrating.
I reckon this book is more for people with extreme symtoms who has never been diagnosed before. This book was very helpful in highligthing the extreme symptoms of hypothyroidism, since I am a borderline hypothyroid the examples in this book are not applicable to me or if they are it is something that in my attitude is not detrimental to my lifestyle and relationships.

This is not a book for people who have gained consequence due to a thyroid shape up. I had my entire Thyroid indifferent a year ago and have gained twenty five pounds prior to the operation and that was in less than six months.
This book only offers well loved diet plans that are already available to the general broadcast that have gained consequence the ancient make way, through eating too much and not exercising enough or at all. Needless to say I am very dissapointed.
In my entire life I have never gained so much consequence and it’s not due to my diet or lack of exercise. For me this is not a normal shape up that can be cured with a low carb salad.
I wouldn’t urge this book to anyone with a REAL THYROID CONDITION and plot on donating it to the Library.
I saw a news tale about a Veterinarian who really cured a monkey of any thyroid symptoms and I’m hoping that one day a human Doctor will be smart enough to figure out something for humans because there’s nothing in this book that will.
