   After reading all these reviews, I bought the book thought I was buying THE infertility book must-have. It’s OK. Not fantastic, not terrible, but not what the hype here led me to judge. I’ll keep it in the library, but I’ll be more careful about buying based on reviews here.

   The cover of this book seemed promising but the contents let us down. We have a three year ancient so I plotting all I needed was something to increase my blood flow and acupuncture was the best thing I may possibly reckon of. But don’t make the mistake we did and place all your eggs in one basket.

   It turned out that I had a blocked fallopian tube and no quantity of acupuncture or Chinese herbs can remedy this. After having it surgically indifferent, we did IVF and got pregnant on the first try.

   But what really helped get us through it was reading an IVF book. My best supporter has read several but said “What to Do When You Can’t Get Pregnant” is by far the best. She was aptly. It was simple to read, empathetic, and helped us every step of the way.

   Lucky for us we found out early that we needed a specialist. A woman in my support group wasn’t so lucky. She has tried natural remedies for the past six years only to learn she’s now going though early menopause.

   Our advice is to get a check up first then choose what book to buy second.

   After several failed attempts to get pregnant using western medicine (at a cost of over $30,000), I was referred to Dr. Lewis by one of the best reproductive endocrinologists in Houston, TX. I was extremely skeptic about acupuncture and what it may possibly do for me but resolute to give it a try based on my doctor’s recommendation and the fact that I had nothing to lose. In addition, the cost of acupuncture treatments and herbs were miniscule compared to the money my spouse and I had already spent.

   After only a link of weeks, I noticed significant changes in my menstrual cycle. After three months, I had more energy, felt better than I ever have before, and was no longer bothered by allergies. I have not gotten pregnant, but given the vast improvement in my well being and quality of life I feel blessed to have come in contact with Dr. Lewis. I continue to receive treatments at Dr. Lewis’ clinic to address my endometriosis.

   Dr. Lewis’ book clarifies the habitual chinese medicine approach and her own diagnostic and treatment methods. She also cites many examples from her own patients’ experiences. More significantly, she is extremely compassionate and understands what people dealing with infertility are going through. I highly urge her book to anyone considering pricey fertility treatments. Read her book first and consider pursuing habitual chinese medicine treatments before you spend money on western fertility treatments.
