i have used a number of neuroanatomy texts over years of study and this is my favorite atlas.

Frankly, I am shocked that this book is now out of print. All other neuro atlases I’ve seen are black and white, unclear, and so dull they make my eyes glaze over. This one is filled with COLOR, and clearly goes through the major pathways via schematic webs and actual thwart-sections. Every thwart-section includes both a drawing and a photographed slide of the brain. The back of the book contains brilliant radiographic images with explanations.
My only recommendation for the next edition: When making identifications on the thwart-sections, instead of directly marking each item (ie “VPL of thalamus” or “dentate gyrus”), I would prefer that you just assign each item a number, with a number key in the corner of each page. It is much simpler to test yourself this way.

This gives the student interested in Neuroanatomy an atlas for the human brain. Would be a fantastic additional text for a Wet Brain Lab and a viable review for Neuroanatomy exams. I would reckon that this book would be helpful for Neuropsychologists, Neurologists, Neurotologists, and anyone interested in detailed brain anatomy. The additional CD-rom is helpful and both Windows and Mac compatible.

some sections are a small weat such as N-histology, but, fantastic illistrations, and easily readable, also the atlas that goes by the side of with the text is a must. I especailly like the section on N-vasulature CSF, also the Thalmus is covered pretty well
