Mr. Washington, whom I know personally as Charles, did any staff member who works in a radiation oncology department, or any student who wants to work in radiation oncology, a fantastic service by revising and updating his three books and combining them into one. As a therapist learning dosimetry this has been an dreadfully excellent reference book. I gave my groundbreaking new copy as a graduation bestow to a recently graduated radiologic technologist student who wants to become a radiation therapist. I can’t tell you how much he appreciated it.

This book is the bible as far as radiation therapy is concerned. Will use this the whole time I’m in school and probably even after. Fantastic book, this new edition is much improved.

This is supposed to be an overview of rad therapy, and it certainly does the job. As it should, it doesn’t go into fantastic depth on any one topic. It’s kaput down into an intro, physics and matter-of-fact applications. But I did wish the authors spend more time on treatment plotting, and perhaps less so on the basics like mathematics, which I would hope most students are dexterous in. Because this book is a collection of chapters written by diff authors, the text can get incohesive or repetitive at times. And there are chapters that are written in a intricate style like pathology. Likewise, I didn’t find the physics section particularly cohesive. But, the book does make its money on the matter-of-fact applications section.
