A nice volume by a well-educated Dr. with Dr. Halstead’s blessing, but (unfortunately) it is appears to be just a re-hash or compilation of well-known in rank. We found small one may possibly consider “new” or “cold-edge” for such a recent Publication date. We were also disappointed to see so small credit and but minimal referral given to that brilliant PPS Guru, Dr. Bruno.

Dr. Silver presents a lot of in rank about Post-Polio Syndrome in an simple to read form. You can tell that she has had a lot of experience with Polio survivors in her training and at her PPS Clinic in Massachusetts. She discusses topics that other books have missed: nutrition, various myths and misunderstandings, and the realities of facing the future with PPS. Her goal seems to be to to provide factual in rank for those with PPS in order to function as well as possible with this chronic shape up.
I agree that it is essential to find a doctor/clinic that has experience with Polio survivors with PPS. It is essential that doctors have the in rank and resources needed so that they do no harm to already fragile Polio bodies. Often, one has to travel to find this kind of expertise.
This book would be fantastic for anyone who had Polio; but especially if you are experiencing new symptoms like pain, weakness, falling down, breathing or swallowing problems or fatigue. It would be a fantastic book for any health care professional. It would be wonderful if more medical professionals had this kind of in rank about PPS, as they will probably be seeing more patients who had Polio and may need help dealing with PPS.
As a Polio suvivor, I am pleased to have Dr. Silver’s book in my private library of Polio in rank.

A lot of Polio survivors suffer from post-polio and are having problems as they age, some do not know what is happening to them and many doctors do not know how to diagnos post-polio. I have given this book to several of my doctors to help them help me. I also read the book often to retain the issues and solutions (if any)for my own education of my disease/
