I bought this book to study for the Introduction to Corporal Diagnosis shelf exam, which I took two weeks ago. It did not help at all for the exam. The scope of the questions in this book were way off from the questions on the shelf, and the questions in this book were also harder than the questions on the shelf. Maybe this book would help for other exams, such as the medicine shelf, but it is NOT excellent for the corporal diagnosis shelf!!

Our school not compulsory this book for the intro to clinical dx shelf exam even though I reckon it’s supposed to be for Step 2 CK because ummm…that’s what it SAYS ON THE BACK! As far as using this for the shelf exam, it is way harder than it needs to be and the explanations don’t do any heavy lifting for you. Just reckon of all those crappy teachers you had in your first two years, they basically guess you to know it all with very minimal effort on their behalf. Not …fun …at …all.
Even though in a year I might know more and be more comfortable with the material, my plot is also not to use this book for Step 2 CK and hopefully find something better.

I used this book for the corporal dx shelf exam at the end of our 2nd year clinical methods course. The book was absolutely essential for this exam, and indeed proved very helpful for step I as well. All questions were in vignette format, as is Step I. In contrast with some other books in the PreTest run, the questions were consistent and of an apt level of difficulty. The answers are extensive and helpful as well. THE QUESTIONS IN THIS BOOK WERE ACTUALLY FUN TO DO!!
