Personality Theories: Development, Growth, and Diversity
Personality Theories: Development, Growth, and Diversity Books
Product Description
Organized by individual theorists, this comprehensive text examines the major movements in the field through an historic and humanistic approach.
This text provides a comprehensive introduction to the key personality theorists by combining biographical in rank on each theorist with his or her contributions to the field, including her or his ranking among the world’s most respected psychologists. In addition, Allen provides a tabular format—that is, a running comparison between the major theorists, allowing students to question new theories hostile to theories learned in previous chapters. The unique style of Allen’s book is strengthened through his chatty tone, enabling students to easily grasp an understanding of the key people and movements in the field of personality.Buy Cheap Personality Theories: Development, Growth, and Diversity Online

The book does a poor job with definitions. A high level overview of each Personality Theorist is provided with random dives into miniscule details about some aspects even as only brushing over other details.
Things that were vital to me, I had to go elsewhere to find because the book simply mentioned it in as small as one sentence, even as other seemingly trivial issues where scrutinized over the course of pages.
The review section of each chapter was modest at best. The few discussion questions often read like “which three items were NOT mentioned in this book” nearly as if the book were meant to be a supplement and not the primary text.
There are a lot of fascinating private details about each Theorist at the beginning of each chapter. But the haphazard nature of the coverage of critical and trivial issues makes the book suspect at best in my attitude.

My book arrived quickly, but had some minor hurt to the spine of the book. It was supposed to be in “like new” shape up, so I was a small disappointed. Otherwise, for the most part, I was pleased with this product.

Concise in rank that is simple to read about various personologists and other psychologists that formed a theory about personality development. Freud starts the chapters off – but you quickly realize the entire book is about tender away from Freud. The book evolves to theorists that have brought self-efficacy and positivity – and private responsibility – into the world. Each chapter discusses one (sometimes two) theorist, their biography, theories, and pro’s and con’s. The summaries are about 2-3 pages, and chapter starts out with a web link.
No one can remember every personality theory so this is a fantastic book that you can refer to in order to refresh your memory. I will not resell this one – but I did buy mine used at Amazon.
