What can I say? The “right believers” and the people who are desperate will judge in anything. But I do plot to give my dog (if I didn’t have only a cat) “1 caplet 3 times per day with 8 ounces of water or juice” of Jordan’s Primal Defense snake oil. On the web site it states “Fantastic for pets.” If it’s excellent enough for Fido, it’s excellent enough for me. But does it have to cost two arms and two legs. As for the “book”, read it at your own risk.

I have nothing really hostile to Jordan Rubin and this book. What it offers is common sense natural medicine. Nothing in this book is really a revelation or surprising. Most or if not all of the in rank can be found in other publications as is really nothing more than a compilation of other resources. The huge come forth here is Mr. Rubin’s claims and other peoples claims of being “cured” or “healed” by chronic diseases. This is simply incorrect, incorrect, inaccurate, and ignorant to say. Sure Mr. Rubin wants you to use his Garden Of Life products. They aren’t cheap either. But to say that you will be “healed” or “cured”? These “products” just suppress the symptoms, which is fantastic! But that should not make you stray away from seeing a medical doctor. Just because you used to have a diesase say like Diabetes does not mean it was cured. Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn Disease are the same way. They are everlastingly there. If people really reckon that these diseases can be cured by Garden Of Life products they are gullible, sad, lost people. Using this system in conjunction with a doctor is the best way. I know some people despise doctors and are willing to shell out a lot of money for Garden Of Life products INSTEAD of seeing a doctor and that is just plain stupid. Wake up people.

After browsing the book, we looked up Mr. Rubin’s site to read more about him. All offers to buy products. Oddly an offer for a “FREE” book with buy of 100 bucks, or more. Not so free if you question me. Looks like yet another book on diet trying to gain an edge on the market. Kind of like “Eat Aptly For Your Type” the other get back to your primal diet thing but atleast that guy a real Dr. Seems like nothing scarier than person who was seroiusly ill got better now thinks he holds the key to the universe. I’ll pass thanks. Saw an unrelated advertisement with his pic. for drinking coconut oil to cure chrohns. That coconut oil is just horrible for the heart and cholesterol. Atleast with the Atkins diet the guru was a legitimate practitioner for years. Atkins suffered criticism then gained well earned renewed popularity later in life, before his untimely death. This Rubin seems to be going for instant infamy such as what is possible with the internet. No cred tho.

This book was a very VERY thinly veiled sales pitch for “Dr.” Rubin’s nutritionals, which he claims “cured” his Crohn’s disease. He shows no medical evidence that his Crohn’s, or anyone else’s, was cured using his questionable methods. The book recommends odd nutritional practices, which might not cause a healthy body any harm, but which may possibly potentially really hurt someone with a weakened immune system. My favorite: taking capsules of Rubin’s proprietary formula “Beneficial Soil Organisms.” What that means in English, folks, is “Germs We Found in The Dirt.” Caveat patient.

The thing that frustrates me about the author is how he professes to be a Christian when he appears on various Christian shows yet his book pretty much pushes his over priced and in my attitude, needless supplements, which are gone in Biblical value in my attitude.
Does one who believes in God, honestly reckon that God would make high cost supplements that only well off Christians may possibly buy, thus ignoring the millions of people in all countries who often can barely afford a bowl of oatmeal?
How about getting people to simply eat inexpensive whole foods and get more free exercise in the form of walking? How about using some common sense and realize that modern high stout, low nutrient foods aren’t healthy, and that eating less, getting enough sleep and drinking enough plain water does wonders.
And if you do need more energy start with a whole B complex vitamin from your local health food store. And if you want some healthy whole foods, recipes get the book A Mediterranean Feast by Clifford A. Wright.
All I need do is read up on Biblical history and that people ate less, walked more, consumed small meat, but more fish, and didn’t have all the modern day toys and gadgets that we have that not only make life more stressful, but people more bone idle.
