Optical Coherence Tomography: Principles and Applications
Optical Unity Tomography: Principles and Applications Books
Product Description
This book gives a broad treatment of the theme which will include 1)the optics, science, and physics needed to know the technology 2)a description of applications with a critical look at how the technology will successfully address actual clinical need, and 3) a discussion of delivery of OCT to the patient, FDA approval and comparisons with available competing technologies.
The required mathematical rigor will be bestow where needed but be presented in such a way that it will not preclude non-scientists and non-engineers from gaining a basic understanding of OCT and the applications as well as the issues of bringing the technology to the market.
* Optical Unity Tomography is a new medical high-resolution imaging technology which offers distinct advantages over current medical imaging technologies and is attracting a large number of researchers.
* Provides non-scientists and non-engineers basic understanding of Optical Unity Tomography applications and issues.

The book does control a lot of helpful in rank, but the quantity of typos is frustrating. Every other equation used in this book contains errors. The equations often control notations that are not defined anywhere in the book.
Some sections need cleaning – they control miriad of equations which can be significantly simplified and their number reduced via a thoughtful layout strategy.
I am not new to OCT and I am considering this book as a reference source, but aptly now I judge the book is not yet ready to be a book. Perhaps later editions will be much better.

A book that covers all vital aspects of this technology, from development to various biomedical applications.

This is an outstanding book to result in the reader up to speed in
effectively all topics correlated to OCT. Among the greatest strengths of
the book is that nearly every chapter is written by one author, something
rare in this era. The chapter on clinical trails may be a
small trying for those without previous experience in this area,
but both this and chapter 12 do an brilliant job outlining how
hypothesis driven research is performed. Also, chapters 5-8 are
likely challenging for those without a significant background in
mathematics. But, it is likely that readers from a wide range of
backgrounds will benefit from this book due to its diversity and
detail. This is a fantastic book for both those new to the field as well
as experienced researchers.

OCT: Principles and Applications is a cohesive text written by an investigator who understands the field from Maxwell’s equations to clinical do. Readers with a solid electromagnetics background will appreciate the detailed derivations and thorough coverage of OCT theory in Section II, including speckle, blast, common and uncommon variants of OCT, and matter-of-fact instrument considerations. A comprehensive but brief introduction to basic mathematics and electromagnetics is given in Section I, which serves as an excellent review for those rusty on basic principles. Readers without a technical background may have difficulty with the equations in Section I and II, opportunely enough descriptive text is provided to enable anyone to follow the substance of derivations. Section III provides valuable in rank to engineers and physicians alike regarding the advantages and limitations of OCT for a variety of vital applications. Typographical errors are a minor distraction. Overall this is an brilliant first text for anyone wishing to delve beyond a superficial understanding of OCT, and a strong compliment to other available books on clinical applications and instrumentation developments in OCT.

The book was very helpful. It covers in rank about OCT from both mathematical and corporal aspects. The book starts out with a basic overview of the science of light and progresses into the more specific working of OCT technology. Nearly every potential field where OCT would be used is covered. Section one is particularly excellent for physicians or anyone with only a biomedical background. I strongly urge that engineers and corporal scientists go through chapters 14 through 18, especially if they want to explore opportunities in an interdisciplinary field such as OCT.
