This book is an example to me of the misuse of the American dream, and I urge people to intelligently investigate real options for improving, and simplifying, your life. I would not urge this book to anyone.

There’s some scientific in rank in this book, but there’s not much science supporting the Atkins diet.
After all, Dr. Atkins himself died stout and with heart disease.

There is too much evidence showing how unhealthy this diet is. It’s irresponsible to promote eating animal protein when science tells us it is the leading cause for many cancers and heart disease.

See Dr. Campbell’s review of this book that clarifies why this book is useless – the authors of this book should be ashamed of themselves for peddling such garbage. Don’t waste your money – buy The Plates Study by Dr. T. Colin Campbell instead. Or any book by Dr. John McDougall or Dr. Neal Barnard. You’ll have far better luck bringing up the rear consequence and gaining health.

Even as it’s common knowledge there are excellent carbs and terrible carbs unfortunately most people still don’t know the difference. They are also very unaware of the functionality of a carbohydrate in general. I read the “Plates Study” which is the most comprehensive populace study on diet that has ever been conducted. I read “The New Atkins” expecting it to shed new insight on the whole no/low carb madness backed by facts and studies much like that in the Plates Project. I was truly disappointed by not only a lack of scientific grit but an overall feeling of what I like to call “Smoke and Mirrors” science quotes. Poorly constructed studies looking at less than optimal conditions, often borrowing conclusions from one another. If you’d like to truly impact your physiology in a positive, long term manor then pick up a copy of “The Plates Study”. One word of caution: after reading it your expectation levels will significantly rise but you’ll be able to filter out excellent science vs. terrible.
