I have had Netter’s copy of Anatomy for decades I judge. It is a gorgeous work of art and science. This book is also another contribution using his brilliant work.
It uses the Netter drawings to provided a basis for the structure and then combines this with light microscope and electron microscope slides. The text is all in color and it is of the highest quality.
There is no histopathology in the text and that might have been helpful for medical students. The discussions are by the normal sections of cells; blood, bone, muscle and by organ. It is longer than most texts of this type and if you studied histology in the dark ages of poor quality black and white photos this is worth the buy just to see how things are being taught now.
There are several things I would have like to see such as the use of stains and the preparation of slides but in today’s world that has become a technician’s task. Yet a fantastic deal can be learned from these techniques.
