This is a fantastic book. When I bought it, I was expecting a “typical” board-oriented book (small on many clinical details). Surprisingly, this is a very excellent source for general review of gastroenterology outside the board preparation. It has all the general in rank needed at it is very current based on the latest evidence. You can use it as a stand-lonely source to read for GI and its size is very manageable. text is clear and enjoyable with excellent tables and pictures.

This review is certainly worth using to prepare for the GI boards. It is as well organized and comprehensive as any one source may possibly be. I found it very helpful and even answered questions that I remembered reviewing just so from this book. But, I would urge a supplementary review source as well, especially for color plates of histology and examples of esophageal manometry and pH watch readings etc. Overall, a excellent source.

I can’t tell you how valuable this single resource is. The text is imminently readable and the info is aptly on the money. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of confusing resources until I locked on to this book. Using it lonely, with no other study aid, I passed the boards. I strongly urge this book to anyone taking the GI boards or the recert exam. Tremendously helpful.
