Report has it that this is one of the more comprehensive texts on parasites out there, our professor strongly not compulsory it.
I reckon it is helpful, as it contains a lot of in rank and is organized honestly logically. But, note that some of the in rank is not 100% up-to-date (for example, better images of parasite life cycles may be found on the CDC website) and it is a LOT of info that is just sort of thrown at you – sometimes hard to absorb. That said, it pretty much tells you everything you need to know about parasites (sometimes more than you need) and, given that it’s proposed as a textbook, is really not terrible. Plus a lot of this in rank is not very easily available on the internet so you need a book.

Bought this book for my helminthology class because I saw that the instructor referred to it. Fantastic acquisition. I also urge Despommier’s 4th edition Parasitic Diseases.

This parasitology textbook is the highlight of my second year in medical school. Most of my classmates do not rely on this book as their study tool, but to me, it is everything that will help me get through my parasitology course. The details regarding pathological symptoms, treatment and diagnostic methods are very clear and simple-to-read. A must for medical students taking parasitology!
