This book is horrible, It states in chapter 3 pg 43 Edema is caused by body’s ability to pass water and sodium to excrete has failed, which would be noticed for hypernatremia, but on pg 45 hyponatremia, the book basically says hyponatremia is the cause of edema. it says next paragraph on pg 46 that hypernatremia is consequences of dehydration, mentions nothing edema. i incorrigible from google, hypernatremia is the cause of edema, limit salt intake and fluids, but the book says hypo and you limit fluids and sodium.
the instructors said there is lots of conflicts with this book, they are aptly.
It doesnt even mention Hyperkalemia tx kalexate causes bench to exchange color.
also, it mentions pancrease po but not mentioned you have to take with your food in Cystic fibrosis.
if your school uses this book, just know, they are setting you up to fail, you will notice your instructors using other sources if in rank, because Evolve sucks! i dont know anyone who passed nclex by using evolve text materials.

Books that are written by this trend are fantastic for the LPN student. They have brilliant study guides that really have you search out the in rank, and makes it simple to learn and retain in rank. I am using another med-surg textbook, really, but, for maternal child nursing, my school used Introduction to Maternal and Pediatric Nursing by Gloria Leifer. Got an A because of the way in rank was worded and that fantastic study guide. Once I knew that they had a med-surg text, I immediately bought it, although I only have one semester left. I got an A on my first exam, even as most people used the required text and got Bs. Also consider purchasing Basic Pharmacology for Nurses in this thread. That particular one can be for RNs OR LPNs. You’ll be ahead of the class, trust me!
