Get a copy of this book if you really want to know cardiovascular physiology or if you just have the sligthest interest in this theme! If just Levick would write a textbook covering the entire physiologic curriculum…… The book is very thorough but excitingly fascinating:-) The essentials of the Frank-Starling means is summarised through a 4-verse rhyme!
Pros:
-This book covers the core essentials as well as details you will not find in your run of the mill textbook.
-This book has a incredibly simple to know and exciding chapter regarding ECG.
-Levick writes in a keep it simple stupid kind of way.
-It has the aptly figures (read 2nd ed.)
-It integrates and summarises histology as well as physics in a “ohh, thats why I have to know this” way.
Cons:
-You will have to buy a textbook og physiology beside this.
-If you just want to pass your exam and do not have interest in this theme you will probably be better of with your run of the mill textbook.
All in all. Buy this book or in some way get the chapters covering the essential CV-physiology. They are better than Rhoades & Tanner, Ganong.
