How to Live on 24 Hours a Day
How to Live on 24 Hours a Day Books
Product Description
“Bennett address the problem of never having enough time. In this book, he urges hourly workers to use “emergency” time to improve their lives, making the best of their time outside of work. He understands that most people are spending as much time as possible working to make more money, thus disliking their lives. “Time is money” sincerely understates this matter, more time can generate more money, but money cannot buy you more time!”

You are basically told to view your allotted 24 hours a day as the number of hours that exist outside of your job, and to spend them doing something that will engage you. Many references to literature. And the author is English, so be prepared to read words like “programme” versus “job”. Following his use of words and trying to determine the American equivalent was fascinating…especially if you’ve not encountered this before.
There are no tips or hints as to how to “save time” doing this instead of that – or doing it differently – for example: clean a room in your house each day and by the end of the week, you won’t need to spend a day of your weekend cleaning. I was hoping for these types of time-savers – but unfortunately did not see that this was not that type of book. At best, he tells you to use your commute time on the train to work each day, and back, to reflect on who you are, where you are headed and what makes you pleased. He recommends not wasting that particular lot of time reading the paper – althought he recommends you still fit that in during the day – just not during your commute?? He focuses on starting with 7+ hours of the week and using them for something that will – again – engage you.
Some valid points. A very small read. But, save your money and locate this book at your local library if you truly wish to read it.

As not compulsory by William H. Danforth in his “I Dare You” (another brilliant book), this book will help you to get more done in less time. Don’t judge me? Read it! What more is there to say? It works if you’ll only try it.

The greatest thing about this publication is that you are aware of the author’s attitude, but no bias exists within the material. The suggestions presented are done in such a make that any revolutions made will seem to be made by you, not the author. This allows for an objective analysis of your current lifestyle and some possible steps you may wish to take to improve it. I am not one who is ordinarily enlightened or easily motivated, but I can honestly say I judge this book is an asset to all and considering the E-Book is only ($$$), you can’t go incorrect.
Delight in! I hope I was of some help.

Though it was written 90 years ago, “How To Live” addresses the inadequacies, frustrations, disappointments of people today in all walks of life and it does so with humor and wisdom. A daily dose of “How To Live” is at least as nourishing for the brain and soul as a multi-vitamin for the body. Arnold Bennett made a classic of its kind, a self-help book that really helps.

It is hard to presume that this small book may possibly be so believable. I consider it a classic, and an early precusor to many others that have attempted to exhibit how time is our own and ours to manage and expand our boundaries of our selves. In the thirty minutes it takes to read, you will be left forever vigilant, and will never sit idle, unless you consciously choose to sit idle, even as you ride a train, wait for plane, or drive home from what once may have been a routine. Read it, study it, and live again.
