I recently bought Robert Ile’s Guidebook to Better Medical Writing and was very pleasantly surprised. He takes a concise, nononsense approach to the theme and provides readers with a run of brilliant tips. He covers the basics of writing very well but also includes info on how to write case reports, clinical consequences, review papers, etc. I have found his book to be helpful in my own medical writing and editing consulting service. Simple explanations on tips to improve writing. At first glance I plotting it was nearly too juvenile; but the book did get the thought across in simple terms, which actaully did help in the application of those tips. Very inexpensive for it’s value.

I reckon all of us writing and teaching graduate students should buy this book and keep at your desk for periodic reminders about excellent writing…I will suggest that my students and colleagues buy this–it is handy and fantastic–very precise and to the top (as our writing should be!) Kudos!!

This a very friendly, and yet, powerful book that allows the reader to review basics of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and general writing rules.
