Family Nurse Practitioner Certification Review
Family Nurse Practitioner Certification Review Books
Product Description
This matter-of-fact review book meets the needs of family nurse practitioners preparing to take the national certification examinations. It provides content on both the FNP’s approach to do based on the Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plot, Evaluate (SOAPE) format and a format that accommodates both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the test blueprint of the American Nurses Credentialing Focal top (ANCC). Sample test questions pertaining to the specific content reviewed are included at the end of each section. Test questions are classified according to the ANCC problem areas, the Academy domains, and across the lifespan, which allows students to focus their study efforts on those items causing the most difficulty.

I can not judge that these reviews are real! The book is dreadful. To be honest, I may possibly never read books written by nurses. Their obsession with the form to the detriment of the content made their books a hard read. I plotting that things were different on the “advanced” level. Not at all! Same awkward form and the lack of content. What makes it worse is the authors’ poor understanding of medicine. The book and the disk are full of mistakes. I am not talking about typos here. I am referring to not understanding the basics of medicine. I do not know if this book prepares you for one of the two boards in FNP (I truly hope that the board questions are better written), but I would suggest that those who seek right medical knowledge get one of the USMLE or physician assistant books. For instance, I find Moser books quite helpful. If you insist on using one of the “nursing” books, look at APEA.
ADDENDUM. Sep. 2005. As I expected, after getting Swanson’s Family Do Review, I passed the boards. 96 percentile. I suggest you do the same.

If you are looking for a book with CD ROM to do test questions on the computer…DON’T BUY THIS BOOK! The answers are incorrectly programmed so even though the rationales make sense, it is graded entirely incorrect. Ditto what the other reviewers has to say about this major flaw…

The book arrived in a timely manner in brilliant shape up! I was very impressed with the expedient service. My previous buy was frustrating, but I resolute to give you guys one more opportunity and I was pleased with the outcome. A lot of excellent in rank to use in the clinical setting and as preparation for certification boards. Thanks!

I used this book to help prepare for the FNP exam and can say it was helpful. I wish that I had bought it earlier on, at the beginning of the FNP program, because it would have helped for those school exam reviews as well. 5 stars, worked for me!

This book breaks review in rank down into small sections with sample test questions at the end of each section. Also contains guidelines for well-pt visits. Very simple to study.
