Forget about “USMLE Road Map: Histology”, “Rapid Review: Histology and Cell Biology “, “BRS Cell Biology and Histology” and “High-Yield Histopathology” – this book is much better and all you need for the coursework and for the USMLE step 1!
Really, on the boards there are no histology MCQs – still, you need to know histology in order know pathology (when you are a beginner) and (what’s much more vital, when you are preparing for the USMLE Step 1) to learn how to “read” microsopic slides of pathology – this will be heavily tested on boards.
This board-oriented book serves both these purposes very well – unlike all above mentioned reviews of histology, it’s effectively packed with gorgeous and very helpful full color illustrations – relevant explanations are kept as concise and to-the-top, as possible.
Also, there is just the aptly number of integrations with other basic subjects, which, being very relevant, don’t distract you from the main theme – unlike that in “High-Yield Histopathology”.
With this book you’ll not only excell on the boards, but master histology and cell biology as well!
