The emphasis has been placed on the histologic interpretation of the bone marrow core biopsy, but the histopathologic findings have been integrated with clinical and laboratory features, as well as with peripheral blood and bone marrow aspiration morphology.
Morphology is, in fact, accorded unique attention in this book, since it remains the “gold standard” for many hematologic diagnoses and is the apt top of departure for more complex diagnostic investigations. More advanced immunologic and molecular techniques are not overlooked, but, and a discussion of these newer techniques is incorporated in the analysis throughout the text.
