I absolutely LOVED this book. I am a new dentist, and this book opened up my eyes to a lot of things. I know I certainly can exchange some of my habits and hopefully make my do more safer with less risk of lawsuits!

This has been a very excellent book to read. It has background and specifics in dealing with patient concerns. Communication is so vital and this book helps me know some of the patient types I have been in contact with. I am a nurse who is retired but has healthcare responsibilities for my mother, uncle, aunt, spouse, and two adult children with chronic diseases. I have been an office nurse in the recent past, and this would have helped me in this role.

As a medical student, I found this book to be extremely helpful. It is well referenced and offers some simple, but powerful techniques about how to best interact with patients.

What I liked best about Communicating with Today’s Patient: The matter-of-fact suggestions that can be used often and aptly away. For example, when broaching a trying theme, question “What has been your experience with (topic)?” This gives you a reading on the patient’s perspective and prevents incorrect assumptions. Dozens of techniques like this make the reader a better communicator aptly away. Two thumbs up!

Well written and comprehensive resource for dealing with all patients, especially the challenging ones. I found it matter-of-fact and concise, and I find myself constantly referring to it. I also found it simple to read and, despite the theme, to some extent fun to read as well.
