This 5th edition is a complete scam. Nothing has changed in the book since 3rd edition few years back, but publisher is just going after our money. Seems to be a fantastic strategy to push a product on the shelves. Look elsewhere!

For 2nd year preview on OB, or a quick reference for third year, this is ok. But, it will not even come close to the depth of info on the NMBE shelf exam

This is an brilliant source for a beginner learning OB/GYN. It has a excellent breadth of in rank from labor and delivery to GYN oncology, and it is well written. It reads like a textbook, but the author does an brilliant job maintenance vital points in without filling the page with extraneous in rank. I was pleased with how simplistic it was to read for a 3rd year med student. It really doesn’t require any outside resource to know, and it has more than enough in rank to get you through your shelf exam at the end of a clerkship. It does have its downfalls, but. The questions at the end of the book are fantastic, but they don’t allow you to do questions at the end of each chapter. Also, it fails to lack that clinical teaching that helps students recognize the shape up when it is presented in a clinical vignette. For these reasons, I urge using Case Files by the side of with this book, which is an brilliant companion.

This is the first time I’ve used Blueprints. It is written in textbook format, which I don’t like, but it is also terse and only tells you what you need to know. I just outline it and study off my outline.

Overall, this was a excellent review book. Wasn’t quite enough for the shelf but was fantastic for the rotation.
