This book was very informative, and I everlastingly consider it the “rock” of the solution-focused literature in my professional library. There have been several texts since this book was published that I found more helpful and simpler to read. This book, which was published in 1992, remains on the best texts on the solution-focused approach (by the side of with Interviewing for Solutions it is one of my favorites). Like many other students of the solution-focused approach I have returned time and again to this book. It superbly reflects the solution-focused approach as it has developed originally.

well-organized, matter-of-fact approach is very goal-oriented. with insurance companies, EAPs, etc. what they are, this book offers some guidelines for getting a lot done in a small time. case examples illustrative. fantastic section on what to do with patients who are defining someone else as the problem.
