Title says it all. No help at all to my questions about aggression. Lady, read my mind.

I was keenly anticipating this book by noted animal communicator Marta Williams. The title and description promise a focus on resolution of behavioral issues using animal communication. Unfortunately, it is more a compilation of the success tales of students and fellow communicators than a training manual for the frustrated and perplexed. The author’s earlier books are packed with detailed exercises and techniques. This book features few and feels nearly like an afterthought.
The chapters are filled with the anecdotes of (frequently) the author’s students and fellow animal communicators. Many feature a (black and white) photograph of the person and their pet. Many of the tales are tender, some are amusing and at least one is rehashed from an earlier book. There are chapters on talking to wildlife, shelter and rescue animals as well as the compulsory chapter on communicating with insects and vermin.
But, the most irritating chapter is the one where the author is supposedly going to address the most common problems, including housebreaking issues, aggression and the like. The author enumerates the problems and provides the like peas in a pod advice: see a conventional vet, a holistic vet (just try to locate one of those!) and a trainer. Even as this advice is sound–excluding a corporal problem as the cause of the unwanted behavior is desirable, most animal lovers would do that automatically. She should have prefaced her explanation with the warning that the vet should everlastingly examine the animal and that reliance on communication is not a use instead for either veterinary advice or excellent training. I would have preferred a detailed description of the suggested techniques and some examples. She is adamant about not giving diagnoses through animal communication. That’s understandable as she is not a vet but, her book is chock full of tales about animals who top out corporal problems that are then verified by the vets. Additionally, she is keen for the animals’ input when it comes to questions of euthanasia.
So even as I applaud the author for her thoughts and willingness to reach out to the animal kingdom, I am disappointed by the lack of focus on the theme promised in the title. If you wish to learn how to communicate, check out the author’s earlier books and those by Amelia Kinkade. But, if you delight in animal tales, this book is a small and enjoyable read.

A very entertaining book filled with fascinating tales, but that’s not all. Marta shares how to communicate with our companion animals, and I’m doing better with mine already. The best book on the theme I’ve read. Highly not compulsory.

Entertaining anecdotes and matter-of-fact applications for improving the understanding between man and animals. Clear lessons to learn to do animal communication. I loved it very much and recomend it to animal lovers.

I like all Marta’s books; this one most of all! I also have done animal communication, for decades, and I LOVE the way Marta makes it so accessible to her readers. Anyone can communicate well If they are taught to discard extraneous in rank from their own subconscious and listen to another being with an open mind, an open heart, and common sense. Marta Williams is helping take humans to the next level in our spiritual growth, where we realize that not only are our pets members of our family, but all living things are correlated. The use of tale-telling is an ancient and effective way of teaching; we can see ourselves in the tales, and use others experiences to further our own.
10 Stars!!!
