Anatomy Trains: Myofascial Meridians for Manual and Movement Therapists
Anatomy Trains: Myofascial Meridians for Manual and Movement Therapists Books
Product Description
Understanding the role of fascia in healthy movement and postural distortion is of vital importance to bodyworkers and movement therapists. Anatomy Trains: Myofascial Meridians for Manual and Movement Therapists presents a unique ‘whole systems’ view of myofascial/locomotor anatomy in which the bodywide connections among the muscles within the fascial net are described in detail for the first time. Using the metaphor of railway or train lines, Myers clarifies how patterns of strain communicate through the myofascial ‘webbing’, contributing to postural compensation and movement stability. Written in a style that makes it simple to know and apply, Anatomy Trains provides an accessible and comprehensive explanation of the anatomy and function of the myofascial system in the body. The DVD ROM in the back of the book contains video of techniques, Anatomy Trains-based dissections and computer animations of the myofascial meridian lines.

I am so grateful to Dr Kuperman for his kind words. All the copies we have have the illustration he mentions, so it must be just a singular printing snafu. I am grateful to be able to right the spelling of oligodendrocytes for the 2nd printing which will be here shortly, but I would maintain that peizoelectricity is a property of most materials – it is how the crystal in your watch works – and that most endothelial linings are endodermally derived.
But everything else in his review is right, right, right! (though Ah do declayuh, I am blushing.) Thanks.

This book is the perfect example of using 10 words when one would be enough.
Nicolas Boileau wrote (L’Art Poetique – 1674) that: “We can clearly clarify what we know painstakingly, and the words to describe it will come easily”. (Approximative translation from French)
The pompous style is truly unnecessary. When we buy a technical book, we are looking for in rank and answers.
Missed the top… by a lot !

I’ve had this book for a few years, and everlastingly take it with me when I go on retreat, and am still trying to absorb… though I’ve read and re-read the earlier chapters numerous times. I’m a yoga teacher and dietitian, so am fascinated by the science of movement at deeper levels and it’s certainly here! Bless you, TM for your focus and perseverance to communicate at the level you do. Inspiring.

I had heard a lot about the Anatomy Trains book and it had been not compulsory to me by several other professionals. As a young professional in the sports medicine realm, I wish I had been exposed to this book sooner! It provides a fantastic “outside the box” view of the body and gives the reader or clinician a whole new way to approach the body. A must read for anyone caught up with sports medicine in my attitude!
