This was one of several times i have bought a book online, before i have been very disppointed and upset for the quality of the books. This book looked groundbreaking new and it was worth half of what they were selling it in school. The book is very intereted, detailed, and worth buying to read. I had to buy it for my class but if i would of ever heard it was excellent to educate yourself, i probably would of bought it before. Hope this helps. Also the book shipped on time and with excellent packaging.

AIDS Fundamentals Science and Society is like reading about the background and history in rank in a “Dummies Guide to HIV/AIDS” book. The book is informative and incredibly simplistic, it’s about as simple as it gets learning about such a complex theme. From taking the class at UC Irvine, I know that it certainly relates to the lectures from professor Hung Fan… The book is simpler to know than his address material!

An incredible book. I came to know it by being a student in the class that the authors teach at UC Irvine–AIDS Fundamentals (by far the most informative and fascinating class I have ever taken). I read the second edition, originally–the fantastic thing about this book is that it is consistantly updated textbook–if you read each edition as it appears, you keep up with the developments. This is a book to be read over and over.

This book is a must-have for anyone who works in health education or is a practitioner of any sort. Fan et al have made an simple-to-read yet detailed account of HIV and AIDS from the views of the epidemiologist, virologist, health care worker, psychologist, sociologist, and anyone else interested in the topic. I first encountered this book in 1999 as a student enrolled in a course on HIV and it’s impact on our society. I now use it in teaching District sponsored HIV/STD workshops and mini courses to youth ages 13-19 and to professors and students at my university.
